Hilton Dubai the Walk
Staying here puts you right in the middle of The Walk, a mile-long promenade filled with boutiques, cafés and restaurants.
As well as offering up a private beach and eight different restaurants, this place is as central as it gets in Jumeirah Beach. You’ll find it in the middle of The Walk shopping and dining promenade, with a beach on one side and the Dubai Marina on the other.
The rooms come with all the standards you’d expect from the Hilton name tag, including 24-hour room service. Guests also have access to some of the facilities at the Hilton Jumeirah Resort next door.

Located on The Walk
The Riu Jambo takes up a plot next to one of Zanzibar’s famous back-to-basics beaches.
With a plot right by a beach, this place is well set up for relaxing getaways. The paper-white stretch of sand goes on for miles, and it’s backed by low rocky cliffs and greenery, so things are pretty peaceful. If you fancy a change of pace, you can spend a day in Zanzibar City – it’s about an hour’s drive away.
The hotel squeezes in four around-the-world restaurants, five bars, a spa and four lounger-lined outdoor pools. There are loads of sports to try out, from volleyball to kayaking. Youngsters are well looked after, as well, with their own swim spot and a hotel-run kids’ club.
The pool scene’s made up of four outdoor numbers, each with plenty of room for sunbathing. One comes with a swim-up bar, as well. Kids get their own splash pool, too.
Italian and gourmet á la carte restaurants, a global buffet and an Asian buffet make up the dining choices here. Bar-wise, you’ve got five to choose from, including a 24-hour watering hole in the lobby, a beachfront spot serving daytime snacks and an over-sea bar that opens in the evenings.
What's Nungwi like?
Nungwi’s perched on the fence that separates old and new. It’s set at Zanzibar’s most northerly point, and cut its teeth as a fishing village before cottoning on to tourist demand. That said, it’s no urban metropolis. Traditional wooden boats still cast off from the waterfront to raid the Indian Ocean’s supply of fish, while swanky hotels watch on from prime plots along the shoreline. It’s also home to one of the island’s oldest buildings – the century-old Ras Nungwi Lighthouse – which rises up above the greenery.
